Welcome! Thanks for visiting my site. I
hope the pictures you've seen give you a good idea of the
quality of my work.
I thought I'd give you some background about my life in the
artistic world and how my pursuits led me to the world of
photography.
I'm a NW Ohio guy by birth – I went to Ottawa Hills and
then onto Duke University. I've acted and sung since the
age of eight. In high school I sang in all the musicals and
at Duke I did the same, and I also began my acting training.
After college I left North Carolina for NYC
to pursue my dreams (as I hope all of us do, at some point!).
I began acting in a small theatre company in the lower East
side almost immediately and I also had the good fortune to
model with the FORD agency in the early-mid '90s. During
those years I worked with some amazing photographers, and
by watching and listening began to appreciate the finer points
of technique, lighting, feel and framing. Above I've included
some of my portfolio from the good ol' days to give you a
feel for what I did.

Soon thereafter I started booking commercials and in '97
I moved to Los Angeles. Along the way I had the privilege
of working with Oscar and Emmy winners in TV sitcoms and
dramas, had leading roles in independent films, booked numerous
national commercials, worked in soap operas, and I created
and sang in my own rock band. My favorite role was that of
Batman/Adam West in the CBS/Artisan/Warner Bros. production
of Return to the Batcave, which was released on DVD in 2006.
In about 2004 I realized I enjoyed being behind the camera
just as much as being in front of it. I started shooting pictures
casually, taking some headshots and portraits of friends and
aspiring actors I knew, using some of the tricks of the trade
I picked up during my modeling years. I gradually realized
that photography was my passion and I also started spending
more time in Toledo to be around family and true friends once
again. As I continued taking pictures, I found that I loved
natural, ambient light, and set out to photograph subjects
accordingly. I most enjoy capturing images of people, but I
love to mix it up as well, shooting everything from rock bands
to sports to landscapes, in black & white as well as in
color.

So that's some background about me.
Here's what I'll do for you as a photographer – shoot professionally,
cleanly and quickly, yet never rushed, with your needs my
primary concern. Great photography captures moments "out
of time," so
to speak, and turns them into timeless treasures. I tailor
my sessions to the client's requests, always. I shoot people,
places, and things in the here and now, the there and then,
finding each subject's uniqueness, as it should be. And when
we work together, expect to be treated with respect and to
laugh a little and have some fun because I love what I do!
